The Weekly Click is back and more streamlined than ever. Don’t call it a comeback; I’ve been here for years, off and on, on this platform and others. So, this is the all-new, all-different email newsletter.

  1. Ezra Klein: “ Democrats are Losing the War for Attention. Badly.
  2. A recent poll showed that 63% of Americans read at least one book in 2024, up from 54% in 2023. That’s great, especially since I plan to publish Captured Ghosts this year.
  3. What I’ve been listening to: The Wild Feathers “ Sanctuary,” Hardy “ Jack,” The Damn Truth “ The Willow,” Jessica Doolan “ Cheap Cherry Bubblegum,” LØLØ “DON’T”
  4. Ben Thompson at Stratechery explains more than you need to know about DeepSeek. It’s an inexpensive Chinese LLM/AI that supposedly is pretty good, although I guess you shouldn’t ask about Tiananmen Square and Taiwan.
  5. Zak Miskry built two incredible kinetic sculptures out of scrap metal and recycled electronics. The first was a dragonfly, and the other was a firefly with a working light that made the bottom glow. It’s really cool stuff.
